- Steep trails, beach driving
- Take your caravan or camper trailer, but leave in a camp spot and explore in your 4wd
In this group the DVDs are High Country: The Victorian Alps, Tasmania: The Devil’s Playground and New Zealand: Down South. These are all destinations for summer 4WD adventures from November to April while many tracks of the High Country are closed from June to November. There are plenty of places to visit in Tasmania with a caravan in tow, and for New Zealand where hiring a mobile home or campervan is very popular.
The High Country is a 4 wheel drive destination, although a caravan park on a river bank is a nice place to use as a base while exploring in the car. See the townships of Licola, Dargo and Omeo, great scenic views from the Howitt High Plains, Mt Wellington and the Pinnacles, or 4WD tracks such as Billy Goat Bluff and along the Crooked River.
Tasmania offers the tourist something of everything in a neat package, with access to great walks, wonderful scenery, such as Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair, history, e.g. Port Arthur, townships of Strahan and St Helens, plus much more in this DVD, including the west coast for Strahan and Zeehan.
New Zealand’s South Island combines the broad range of interests of Tasmania and some adventurous driving similar to Victoria’s High Country. The general traveller is well served in New Zealand . Hire a campervan and visit Queenstown, Milford Sound, Christchurch, Mt Cook and as much as possible in between. Or join a 4 wheel drive tour as shown in this DVD and explore private properties, mountain ranges and rainforests in the South Island’s northern section.
